Ebooks as a Marketing Tool



What are Ebooks and why are they important in marketing a website? Ebooks are essentially electronic books in word or pdf format that talk about a subject in detail. Such ebooks are easy to circulate among the internet users and thus can make a great marketing tool. Some of the latest ebooks include html links, graphics, flash presentations and videos. This makes it a one stop shop to showcase all you want to into one simple file called ebook.


Since an ebook can bundle so many things into one, it acts as a great marketing tool for websites and affiliate programs. In fact numerous affiliate programs have released ebooks to tell the users around the globe about the opportunity. Some websites that sell products that are technical information/content oriented like financial products, use the ebook to market their business. There are many websites that provide their ebooks free of cost to the customers/visitors. This gives them the opportunity to connect with prospective customers. When customers are impressed with what you have provided, they start to talk about you and your product/website.

This is then spreads to blogs and thus more and more people visit your site. When you package an ebook make sure you provide as much information/content as you can to make it a success.

Some websites provide additional ebooks for purchasing a product. This is more like after sales service, where the free ebook introduces the customer with other products that maybe on offer. Include banners and links to your site and products. Include sneak peeks of other products that you may have on your website. Get the viral marketing push as you allow your ebook to get passed on to others through webmasters.

You give webmasters the freedom to give away the ebook for free on their sites. This way you capture the traffic that doesn’t frequent your website. Imagine allowing 100’s or thousands of webmasters to distribute your ebooks who in turn give it away to their 1000’s of users. You are looking at mind boggling numbers. Take a conservative estimate of about 5-6% of those users actually making a sale at your website. That could easily cross the 1000’s!

So, the book is not only an information provider, it becomes a marketing tool. All you have to do spend some time and little bit of money into research and editorial work to get the ebook in shape. Once you’re done with that, you can go ahead passing it around!
